These stories are unusually moving and powerful while dealing with quirky contemporary subject matter. Each story is gripping yet each story is different. Very good value as a book which offers a variety of moods, methods and subject matter to enjoy.

This novel draws you into its strange domestic world and the subjects of love and hypocrisy. Atmospheric and tender, the book shows the dangers of falsity while forgiving its characters. At the heart of the book is the fate of children growing up with self-centred parents. Food, art and first love are treated with a clear, humourous and non-judgmental eye. An enticing read.
