Catch a Fish from the Sea (Using the Internet)

Insightful and gripping, this is the true story of the realities of searching for a lifetime partner using the internet. It is the powerful memoir of a thirty-something British Muslim woman of Pakistani origin who embarks upon a remarkable journey of the self, society, soul and love.

Rani D's comments on this title

The book provides a very funny, yet at times painful account of woman seeking life partner. Akhtar provides excellent depiction of the trials and tribulations that are faced by many Asian women in search for the one. Throughout the journey Akhtar learns about potential partners (and other women in the sea) ways of thinking and behaviour through time consuming courtships….all this within an ever watchful community. An exceptionally insightful and entertaining book, one which is long overdue and is highly recommended reading for all.
